Ola everyone. Ok I don't even know if I spelled that correctly so don't everyone jump on to correct my Spanish.

Was out in Sunny Southern California last week and met a person who had never seen snow. I offered to mail her some but she wasn't interested.

While out there the whole Anna Nicole Smith thing broke. As I was watching the endless news coverage and the subsequent late night talk show hosts jokes about it I started to think about her life. I came to one conclusion...it was a tragedy. Don't get me wrong, I am not an Anna Nicole fan. Never saw her in Playboy, didn't want to, didn't need to, I am married to a beautiful woman so I don't need to see anyone else naked. Never watched her soft-porn shows, see reason above. Never met her. While I was at dinner with a group of pastors the subject came up and some jokes were made. Nothing off color or tasteless, but I was really mad. For once I bit my tongue and didn't say anything...yeah I know what is the world coming too!

I call it a tragedy for a couple of reasons. (1). Her daughter will never get to personally know her mum. That just sucks for so many reasons. She will know her second hand and by what she can read and see in books and magazines...that is tragic seeing what material there is isn't really flattering. (2). She didn't have anyone in her life who told her about Christ. Now maybe someone tried and she rebuffed them, maybe someone wanted to but couldn't get close to her, maybe she didn't return phone calls, I don't know but when someone dies without Christ it's a tragedy, and I don't care who they are.

Anna Nicole Smith was no less a child of God than you and I and Billy Graham, and every other "important" person I could name. She lived a wretched life, but think about this for a minute; the same media that ridiculed and berated her in life and death is the same media that promotes the hedonistic and self-gratifying life that she pursued. Hypocritical, yeah ya think?

In the words of John Newton, the author of "Amazing Grace", "I am a great sinner and Christ is a great savior." We are all a little Anna Nicole Smith and if we die without Christ it's tragic. As a great sinner who was redeemed by Christ I know the loneliness of that lifestyle that she led, there comes a time when all the drugs, sex, alcohol, cheap thrills, etc, etc leave you feeling as empty as a tomb. Death becomes attractive. Fortuneately for me I had a lot of people praying for me and eventually I gave my life to Christ. I had time for a second chance, Anna didn't.

Do you know an Anna Nicole Smith? Don't let another person die without being given the opportunity to give their lives to Christ. Even if they rebuff you, don't return phone calls, or seem unapproachable don't let that stop you, the need is too great, the consequences of living eternity without Christ too severe. Share your faith with those in need around you.

Sorry if this was too depressing or too serious. On a lighter side, "Amazing Grace" the movie is opening on the 23rd of February. Go and check it out. It is amazing, wonderful and powerful. Go to www.amazinggracethemovie.com to check it out.

Peace y'all
